About The Artist:
Owensboro, Kentucky, Native
Began painting about twenty years ago as therapy for trauma. Painted a lot of sad self-portraits. Began a karate class at same time. Used to take paintings to show Sensei. Told me that was enough self-portraits. Paint flowers, he said.
This was easy, as have gardened all my life. Flower garden on local home tour.
Love the way the wind plays with flowers. Try to recreate this with swirling motions. However paintings also reflect my moods. For instance, when overwhelmed, you will see ridge lines and less degrees of color in an effort to establish order.
Have resided in Kentucky most of my life. Kentucky girl painting Kentucky flowers.
